Ingredients
- 3 Tbsp. oil
- 1 Tbsp. onion, chopped fine
- 1 frying chicken (2 1/2 to 3 lb.)
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. paprika
- chicken broth
- 3 oz. milk
- 1 Tbsp. sour cream
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- Spoon Dumplings
Method
- In a large heavy skillet, heat the oil. Add onion and cook until soft.
- Add chicken pieces and brown. Sprinkle with paprika to taste and cover chicken with broth.
- Cook, covered, until tender (about 45 minutes).
- Remove chicken to heated platter and keep warm. Thicken remaining broth with milk, sour cream and flour, stirring constantly.
- Arrange Spoon Dumplings around chicken on platter and serve with prepared gravy. Serves 4.
