Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef (chuck or stew beef)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 medium onion
  • 12 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 12 cup water
  • 14 teaspoon chili powder
  • 12 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon pepper

Method

  • Cook onion in oil, add ketchup, vinegar, mustard, water, chili powder, paprika, brown sugar, salt and pepper and simmer for 15 min.
  • Cover beef with water, add 4-5 bay leaves.
  • Simmer until it can be pulled apart with fork.
  • Serve on bun.
  • Pork or chicken can be used.
  • Can be frozen.
  • Note: I use chicken.
  • I cook the sauce in the crockpot, add the cooked chicken at the beginning, and cook it on low for about 6 hours.
