Ingredients
- 6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
- 1 c buttermilk
- 1 c flour
- 1 t salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 t garlic powder
- 1 c bread crumbs
- 1 t baking powder
- oil for frying
Method
- Cut chicken into 1/2 inch strips and place in a large plastic bag.
- Combine egg, buttermilk and garlic powder and pour over chicken.
- Seal and refrigerate 2-4 hours.
- In another large reclosable bag, combine flour, bread crumbs, salt and baking powder.
- Drain chicken and discard buttermilk mixture.
- Place chicken in bag with flour mixture and seal.
- Shake to coat.
- Heat oil to 375 F and fry chicken 4-5 minutes or till golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
- Serves 6.
