Ingredients

  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 t garlic powder
  • 1 c bread crumbs
  • 1 t baking powder
  • oil for frying

Method

  • Cut chicken into 1/2 inch strips and place in a large plastic bag.
  • Combine egg, buttermilk and garlic powder and pour over chicken.
  • Seal and refrigerate 2-4 hours.
  • In another large reclosable bag, combine flour, bread crumbs, salt and baking powder.
  • Drain chicken and discard buttermilk mixture.
  • Place chicken in bag with flour mixture and seal.
  • Shake to coat.
  • Heat oil to 375 F and fry chicken 4-5 minutes or till golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  • Serves 6.
