Ingredients

  • 6 chicken breasts or whole chicken
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 pt. half and half
  • salt to taste
  • 1 large pkg. egg noodles
  • 1 onion
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 24 slices American cheese

Method

  • Cover chicken with water in large pot and cook until done. Remove and debone.
  • Cook egg noodles in chicken broth.
  • Saute onion and mushrooms in butter.
  • Add this to noodles, then add half and half.
  • Add slices of cheese and stir until melted.
  • Add chicken, stir soup until hot.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • More water can be added to make soup thinner.
  • Serves 12.
