Ingredients
- 1 uncooked fryer, cut for frying
- 1 1/2 sticks butter or oleo
- 2 envelopes onion soup mix
- 2 c. rice, uncooked
- 8 c. water
Method
- Melt oleo in 4-quart baking dish.
- Add onion soup mix and mix well.
- Place chicken in a layer on top of mixture.
- Sprinkle the rice on top of this.
- Add the water.
- Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour.
- Remove cover and brown.
- If you do not have a 4-quart casserole dish, you can halve this recipe and bake it in two 2-quart casseroles.
- Serves 10 to 12.
