Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. Crisco
  • 1 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. uncooked oats
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped walnuts

Method

  • Heat oven to 375°.
  • Lightly grease a baking sheet with Crisco. In a large bowl, combine Crisco, brown sugar, egg, milk and vanilla.
  • Beat at medium speed until well blended.
  • Combine oats, flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon.
  • Mix into creamed mixture at low speed until blended.
  • Stir in raisins and nuts.
  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoons, 2 inches apart onto a greased baking sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Cool 2 minutes on a cooling rack. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
