Ingredients
- 1 1/4 c. margarine, softened
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 3/4 c. cocoa
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips or 2 c. peanut butter chips
- 1 c. pecans (optional)
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- In large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine dry ingredients.
- Gradually add to creamed mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 8 to 9 minutes.
- (Do not overbake.) Cookies will be soft.
- They will puff while baking and flatten while cooling.
- Cool slightly, remove from cookie sheet onto wire rack.
- Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
