Ingredients

  • 6 Tbsp. (3/4 stick) margarine or butter
  • 1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. (about 6 large) egg yolks
  • 1 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 tsp. vanilla extract

Method

  • Cream together the margarine and sugar.
  • Add egg yolks gradually and beat well.
  • Add flour and salt mixture alternately with evaporated milk.
  • Mix on low speed while adding vanilla and mix.
  • Pour filling into a 9-inch pie shell.
  • Bake approximately one hour at 300° or until set in center.
  • If not brown enough, turn up to 350° for a few minutes.
