Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. vegetable shortening
- 3/4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
- 1/4 c. chopped fresh chives
- 1 c. milk
Method
- Mix flour and shortening until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add milk, grated cheese and chives and work in extra flour until dough pulls from sides of bowl.
- Roll out to 1/2-inch thick and cut with floured cutter.
- Brush tops with melted butter.
- Bake until golden brown at 425°, about 12 minutes.
