Ingredients

  • 4 oz. ham, finely chopped
  • 1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1/2 c. crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted

Method

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • Grease a baking sheet.
  • Mix ham, Swiss and blue cheeses, celery and pepper together.
  • Prepare pastry by unfolding on a 20 inch long sheet of waxed paper.
  • Using a rolling pin, roll pastry into a 15 X 9 inch rectangle.
  • Spread filling lengthwise in a 5 inch strip down center of pastry within 2 inches of edges.
  • Fold pastry over filling to enclose, folding in short sides first.
  • Place strudel, seam side down, on baking sheet. Remove waxed paper.
  • Brush strudel with melted butter.
  • Bake until lightly golden, about 10 minutes.
  • Reduce oven temperature to 375°. Bake until golden brown, 30 minutes more.
  • Transfer baking sheet to a wire rack to cool slightly.
