Ingredients
- Chashu -
- 2 lbs Pork Belly
- 1 oz of peeled sliced ginger
- 6 cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbl sugar
- 3/4 Cup of Soy Sauce
- 1/2 Cup of Ponzu
- 1 tbl La-Yu Chili Oil
- 1 tbl of crushed dried anchovies
Method
- 1) Cut Pork Belly into (very) roughly 5" by 3" rectangles.
- 2) Place pot and fill with water to the top of the pork
- 3) Bring to a boil then bring down to a simmer
- 4) Add all ingredients EXCEPT Chili Oil.
- 5) Simmer for 1 hour
- 6) Take all meat out and bake in oven at 400 degrees for 15-17 min (adjust for desired crispiness)
- 7) take out, slice into thin pieces and serve
