Ingredients

  • Chashu -
  • 2 lbs Pork Belly
  • 1 oz of peeled sliced ginger
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbl sugar
  • 3/4 Cup of Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup of Ponzu
  • 1 tbl La-Yu Chili Oil
  • 1 tbl of crushed dried anchovies

Method

  • 1) Cut Pork Belly into (very) roughly 5" by 3" rectangles.
  • 2) Place pot and fill with water to the top of the pork
  • 3) Bring to a boil then bring down to a simmer
  • 4) Add all ingredients EXCEPT Chili Oil.
  • 5) Simmer for 1 hour
  • 6) Take all meat out and bake in oven at 400 degrees for 15-17 min (adjust for desired crispiness)
  • 7) take out, slice into thin pieces and serve
