Ingredients

  • 1 whole Onion
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 pinch Sea Salt
  • 3 dashes Soy Sauce
  • 3 ounces, fluid Chardonnay Or Other White Wine

Method

  • Peel the onion, slice in half from root to stem and then slice into 1/2 rings.
  • Melt the butter in a saute pan over medium heat and add the onions.
  • Add the salt and continue cooking the onions, stirring often until they start to brown up and become very tender. How dark the onions cook is a matter of preference.
  • When the onions are about done enough, add 2-3 dashes of soy sauce and stir it around to let the onions absorb the soy sauce.
  • To finish it off, I splash some Chardonnay into the pan to de-glaze the pan and add some nice flavor to it.
  • Serve immediately on burgers or with your favorite steak.
