Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. Mazola oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 sq. Baker's chocolate
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate bits
  • 1/2 c. butter

Method

  • Preheat oven to 275°.
  • Melt bakers chocolate in the water. Combine sugar, Mazola and egg.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
  • Combine liquid, dry and chocolate mixtures.
  • Bake for 1 hour.
  • In a double boiler, melt chocolate bits and butter.
  • Spread over cake.
