Ingredients
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 stalks celery, chopped
- 2 c. milk
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs
- 12 carrots, sliced
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
Method
- Cook carrots.
- Simmer onion and celery in butter.
- Make white sauce by combining milk and flour; heat until sauce thickens.
- Add onion and celery to white sauce.
- Layer carrots and Cheddar cheese in casserole dish.
- Cover with white sauce.
- Top with bread crumbs.
- Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
