Ingredients
- 2/3 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 c. flour
- about 2 1/2 c. pecan halves
Method
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Grease a 10 x 15-inch jelly-roll pan. To prepare cookie base:
- In a large mixing bowl beat butter, brown sugar, vanilla and salt until light and fluffy.
- Stir in flour 1/2 cup at a time, blending well after each addition.
- Spread evenly in prepared pan.
- Cover solidly with rows of pecan halves.
- Bake 18 to 22 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Cool in pan on rack.
