Ingredients
- 2 c. white sugar
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 stick butter
- 1 slightly beaten egg
Method
- Place 1/2 cup white sugar in a thick skillet and melt; in the meantime, mix milk, 2 cups sugar, butter and beaten egg.
- Cook over moderate heat and stir.
- When boiling, add melted sugar.
- Cook until soft ball stage, then add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
- Beat and spread.
