Ingredients

  • 6 qt. popped popcorn
  • 2 c. firm packed sugar
  • 1 c. margarine
  • 1/2 c. light or dark Karo
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Spread popcorn in large pan; may need to use two.
  • In heavy saucepan, mix sugar, margarine, syrup and salt.
  • Cook over medium heat, stir constantly until mix boils.
  • Continue cooking without stirring for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and soda.
  • Pour syrup mix over popcorn.
  • Stir to coat well.
  • Bake at 250°
  • for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Break apart when cool.
