Ingredients

  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. white syrup
  • 6 Tbsp. margarine (regular; not whipped)
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 10 to 12 c. popped corn

Method

  • Mix sugar, syrup, margarine, cream of tartar and salt.
  • Boil mixture for 5 minutes on medium-high.
  • Remove from heat; add soda. Mix well.
  • Grease bowl.
  • Add popcorn and pour mixture over popcorn.
  • Pour on cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 250° for 30 minutes, stirring every few minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Store in metal or plastic container.
