- 1 cup Apple Juice
- 1/2 cups Soy Sauce
- 4 Boneless Pork Chops, 1/2 Inch Thick
- 1/4 cups Unsalted Butter
- 1/4 cups Light Brown Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 18 teaspoons Black Pepper
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
- 1 Small Granny Smith Apple, Peeled, Cored, And Cubed
Method
- Note that the recipe requires at least 1 hour of marinating so plan ahead.
- 1.
- In a large bowl, combine apple juice and soy sauce.
- Add the pork chops and flip to coat them.
- Brine them in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 1 hour.
- 2.
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- 3.
- Melt butter in a medium size skillet over medium heat.
- Add sugar, salt, black pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Add apples, cover and cook until the apples are just tender (mine only took a minute or two).
- 4.
- Remove the cover.
- Cook the sauce until slightly thickened.
- Place the pork chops into a casserole dish in a single layer.
- Pour the sauce over the pork chops.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through.
- Enjoy!
- This meal is great with a nice vegetable like green beans and some fresh bread.
- Notes: 1.
- I brine my pork chops in the apple juice and soy sauce to help make them extra juicy.
- This step is optional, but I feel it makes the pork chops extra tender.
- 2.
- I used 1/2-inch thick pork chops because this is what they had at the store.
- These are thin and cook fast, therefore they only needed 20 minutes of cook time.
- Feel free to use 3/4-inch to 1-inch thick pork chops and adjust the cooking time to 40-45 minutes.
- 3.
- I cut the apple into cubes, but feel free to thinly slice instead.
