Ingredients

  • 1 cup Apple Juice
  • 1/2 cups Soy Sauce
  • 4 Boneless Pork Chops, 1/2 Inch Thick
  • 1/4 cups Unsalted Butter
  • 1/4 cups Light Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoons Salt
  • 18 teaspoons Black Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoons Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 Small Granny Smith Apple, Peeled, Cored, And Cubed

Method

  • Note that the recipe requires at least 1 hour of marinating so plan ahead.
  • 1.
  • In a large bowl, combine apple juice and soy sauce.
  • Add the pork chops and flip to coat them.
  • Brine them in the refrigerator overnight or for at least 1 hour.
  • 2.
  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • 3.
  • Melt butter in a medium size skillet over medium heat.
  • Add sugar, salt, black pepper, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Add apples, cover and cook until the apples are just tender (mine only took a minute or two).
  • 4.
  • Remove the cover.
  • Cook the sauce until slightly thickened.
  • Place the pork chops into a casserole dish in a single layer.
  • Pour the sauce over the pork chops.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through.
  • Enjoy!
  • This meal is great with a nice vegetable like green beans and some fresh bread.
  • Notes: 1.
  • I brine my pork chops in the apple juice and soy sauce to help make them extra juicy.
  • This step is optional, but I feel it makes the pork chops extra tender.
  • 2.
  • I used 1/2-inch thick pork chops because this is what they had at the store.
  • These are thin and cook fast, therefore they only needed 20 minutes of cook time.
  • Feel free to use 3/4-inch to 1-inch thick pork chops and adjust the cooking time to 40-45 minutes.
  • 3.
  • I cut the apple into cubes, but feel free to thinly slice instead.
