Ingredients
- 10 to 12 large cucumbers
- 2 lb. onion
- 3 c. celery
- 2 hot peppers
- 2 sweet peppers
- 6 c. water
- 1/4 c. salt
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 4 c. white vinegar
Method
- Slice unpeeled cucumbers and dice other vegetables.
- Place in large canning pot and cover with salt and water.
- Soak 12 hours. When time has passed, heat vinegar, sugar and spices.
- Drain water off vegetables and add hot vinegar mixture.
- Bring to a boil, approximately 10 minutes or until mixture is well heated. Transfer to hot canning jars and seal with hot disks and rings.
