- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. 1/2-inch noodles
- 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 bunch onions, chopped (white and green)
- 1/2 c. sliced black olives
- 1 c. sour cream
Method
- In a large skillet, combine ground beef, garlic, salt, pepper, sugar, tomato sauce and paste.
- Bring to a boil, stirring to break up meat.
- Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook noodles.
- Drain and toss with butter.
- Combine cream cheese, sour cream, onions and olives.
- Spoon about 1 cup meat mix in greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Spread noodles evenly on top.
- Cover noodles with rest of meat mixture.
- Cover with Cheddar cheese. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes or until heated through.
