Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 3 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. 1/2-inch noodles
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or oleo
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 bunch onions, chopped (white and green)
  • 1/2 c. sliced black olives
  • 1 c. sour cream

Method

  • In a large skillet, combine ground beef, garlic, salt, pepper, sugar, tomato sauce and paste.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring to break up meat.
  • Simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cook noodles.
  • Drain and toss with butter.
  • Combine cream cheese, sour cream, onions and olives.
  • Spoon about 1 cup meat mix in greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  • Spread noodles evenly on top.
  • Cover noodles with rest of meat mixture.
  • Cover with Cheddar cheese. Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes or until heated through.
