Ingredients

  • 1 to 1 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 1/4 c. milk

Method

  • Cream the butter until smooth.
  • Add sugar, again creaming until smooth.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each egg.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Add flour, one cup at a time.
  • Add 1/2 milk after adding 1 cup flour, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add last 1/2 cup milk after adding second cup of flour.
  • Add third cup of flour and mix well.
  • Pour into a 9 x 13-inch greased and floured pan.
  • This will also make three 9-inch layers.
  • I use Baker's Joy spray to grease pans.
