Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3 c. rolled oats
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Sift together flour, salt and soda.
- Cream butter, sugars and eggs, creaming well.
- Blend dry ingredients gradually to butter mixture.
- Stir in rolled oats and chopped nuts.
- Chill 1 hour. Divide dough in half.
- Shape into rolls 1 1/2-inch in diameter. Wrap in foil and chill 2 hours to overnight.
- Cut into slices about 1/4-inch thick and place on greased baking sheets.
- Bake at 325° to 350° for 10 to 12 minutes.
- Cool on cake rack.
- Makes 6 to 8 dozen.
