Ingredients

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. butter, softened
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tsp. vanilla, butter and nut flavoring
  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 3 c. cake flour
  • powdered sugar

Method

  • Cream sugar, butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Beat in flavorings.
  • Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add cake flour, mixing well.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter.
  • Spoon batter into a greased 10-inch tube or Bundt pan.
  • Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
  • Cool thoroughly and sprinkle with sifted powdered sugar.
  • Yields 1 (10-inch) cake.
