Ingredients
- 2/3 c. Crisco shortening
- 1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Method
- Heat oven to 375°.
- Combine Crisco, sugar, water and vanilla. Beat on medium speed until blended.
- Beat eggs into mixture. Combine flour, cocoa, soda and salt.
- Mix into creamed mixture at low speed until just blended.
- Stir in chocolate chips by hand. Drop by spoonfuls of cookie sheet.
- Bake in oven for 7 to 9 minutes.
- Do not overbake.
- Makes about 3 dozen.
