Ingredients

  • 4 c. chopped raw broccoli
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1/4 c. chopped green onion
  • 1 c. seedless green grapes
  • 1 c. seedless red grapes
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 c. mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
  • 2/3 c. slivered or sliced almonds, toasted

Method

  • Toss together the vegetables and grapes in a large salad bowl. Mix the sugar, mayonnaise and vinegar in a separate small bowl to make dressing.
  • Pour dressing over vegetables and grapes and stir gently to allow dressing to coat evenly.
  • Refrigerate overnight before serving, if time allows, for flavors to mix.
  • Just before serving, add crumbled bacon and toasted almonds.
  • Serves 10 to 12.
