Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked pastry shell
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
  • 1 c. light cream or milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. chicken flavor instant bouillon
  • 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 sliced hard-cooked egg

Method

  • Preheat oven to 425°.
  • Bake pastry shell 8 minutes.
  • Remove from oven.
  • Reduce oven to 350°.
  • Cook onion in margarine until tender. Beat together cream, eggs, bouillon and nutmeg. Toss cheese and flour.
  • Add to egg mixture along with remaining ingredients, except hard-cooked egg.
  • Turn in prepared shell. Bake 30 minutes or until set.
  • Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with hard-cooked egg and parsley (optional). Makes 6 servings.
