Ingredients

  • 1 (16 oz.) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. thawed and drained, frozen, chopped broccoli
  • 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. instant minced onion
  • 1 tsp. onion salt
  • 2 Tbsp. butter, melted

Method

  • Roll dough into a 12-inch square on a lightly floured surface. Combine broccoli and next 4 ingredients; stir well.
  • Spread mixture evenly over dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  • Starting on one side, roll dough tightly jelly roll fashion.
  • Moisten seam edge of dough with water.
  • Press securely to seal, turning seam side down.
  • Cut roll into 8 slices.
  • Cut each slice almost in half again, cutting to within 1/2 inch of bottom.
  • Gently open out halves, invert and place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Brush with melted butter.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place free from drafts for 45 minutes or until doubled in bulk.
  • Bake at 375° for 18 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Yields 8 servings.
