Ingredients

  • 8 to 10 slices bread, torn in large pieces or light bread
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled or turkey bacon
  • 1 to 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese or low-fat cheese
  • 6 eggs or 1 1/2 c. Egg Beaters
  • 2 c. milk or skim milk
  • 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Mix eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper well.
  • Butter a 9 x 13-inch casserole.
  • Place bread, bacon and cheese in casserole. Pour milk and egg mixture evenly over bread.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
  • Bake uncovered at 300° for 1 hour.
