Ingredients

  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 2 to 6 slices bread, cubed or enough to cover baking dish
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. mustard
  • 1 1/4 c. grated sharp cheese
  • 5 eggs, beaten

Method

  • Brown sausage and drain well.
  • Line bottom of 9 x 13-inch greased baking dish with bread cubes.
  • Sprinkle sausage over bread. Sprinkle cheese on sausage.
  • Mix remaining ingredients and beat well.
  • Pour mixture over sausage and cheese.
  • Refrigerate overnight.
  • Bake as directed when ready to serve.
  • May also be frozen.
  • Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Serves 6 to 8.
