Ingredients

  • 4 to 8 slices bread
  • 1 lb. sausage
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 6 oz. grated cheese (for 4 slices bread)
  • 1 egg (for each slice bread used)
  • 1 c. milk (for 4 slices bread)
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Spray casserole dish with Pam.
  • Trim crust from as many slices of bread as will fit in bottom of dish.
  • Saute the sausage; crumble and drain well.
  • Put sausage on top of bread.
  • Saute green pepper and onion; drain well and spoon over sausage.
  • Layer cheese over vegetables.
  • Mix eggs, milk, mustard, salt and pepper; pour over cheese.
  • Cover tightly with aluminum foil.
  • May leave in refrigerator overnight before baking or may freeze now.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
