Ingredients
- 1/4 c. oleo
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. sugar
- garlic salt
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 c. milk
- Parmesan cheese
Method
- Melt oleo in oven in a 9 x 9-inch pan.
- Mix dry ingredients. Stir just enough milk in until dough forms (about 30 strokes). Turn dough onto floured surface.
- Roll dough in flour to coat. Knead lightly, about 10 times.
- Roll into 8-inch square.
- With floured knife, cut dough in half, then cut each half into 9 (4-inch) strips.
- Dip each strip into melted oleo, coating each side.
- Arrange strips close together in pan.
- Sprinkle with garlic salt and Parmesan cheese, if desired.
- Bake 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown at 425°.
