Ingredients

  • 2 1/8 cups milk
  • 8 5/8 cups bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 1/8 cups cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1/4 cup golden raisins soaked in rum
  • 10 amaretti biscuits crushed
  • ground cinnamon
  • powdered sugar

Method

  • Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
  • Soak the bread in the milk for 2 to 3 hours and mash into a pulp.
  • Add the eggs, sugar, flour, cocoa powder, pine nuts, raisins, biscuits, and a pinch of cinnamon. Mix well until smooth. If mixture appears too dry, add a little milk.
  • Pour into a greased springform pan.
  • Bake for 1 hour.
  • Allow to cool and serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
