Ingredients
- 4 c. coarse bread crumbs (leftover biscuits)
- 2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- nutmeg
Method
- Butter a 1 1/2-quart casserole or 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Beat eggs in large bowl; add sugar, salt and butter and mix well.
- Add warm milk and vanilla.
- Add bread crumbs and pour into buttered pan. Sprinkle generously with nutmeg and bake in 350° oven for 30 minutes or so.
- Put a silver knife in the pudding about an inch from the edge.
- If blade comes out clean, pudding is done.
- Serve warm with lemon sauce.
