Ingredients
- 4 quarts sliced cucumbers
- 2 quarts of sliced onion rings
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 quart vinegar
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 2 tsp. celery seeds
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 Tbsp. white pepper
- 4 cups sugar
Method
- Mix 2 quarts ice cubes with cucumbers, onions, and salt.
- Let stand for 3 hours and drain thoroughly.
- Make a pickling syrup with the remaining ingredients and let come to a boil.
- Add cucumber mixture and reheat to scalding, but do not boil.
- Pour in jars and seal.
