Ingredients

  • chocolate chips
  • 1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. soft shortening
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

  • Sift together the flour, soda and salt.
  • Add sugars, egg, vanilla and shortening.
  • Blend all ingredients.
  • Mix the batter until smooth, about 1 minute.
  • Add chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
  • Drop by teaspoon onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Place about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in moderate oven (375°) for 10 to 12 minutes.
