Ingredients

  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 2 tsp Vegetable oil
  • 3 tbsp Milk
  • 50 grams Sugar
  • 3 tbsp Strawberry sauce
  • 120 grams Cake flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp Cranberries (optional)

Method

  • Sift all the ingredients together.
  • Wrap the lid with a kitchen towel, and start boiling water in the steamer.
  • Cut up the cranberries into small pieces.
  • In a bowl whisk the egg yolk, and add the vegetable oil, milk, sugar and strawberry sauce, in that order, and mix each time you add an ingredient.
  • Add the sifted dry ingredients to the bowl.
  • Add the cranberries and fold into the batter with a spatula.
  • The batter should be somewhat sticky and thick.
  • Place cupcake linings into silicone muffin molds and spoon in the batter 70% full.
  • Align the molds in the steamer and steam for 12 minutes over high heat, and the buns are done.
  • If you're not going to eat the buns right away, place them in a plastic bag while they are still slightly warm.
  • This is to prevent them from hardening.
