- 1 lb. lean beef, cut 3 x 1/2-inch
- 1 c. hot beef stock or bouillon
- 3 Tbsp. tomato juice
- 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 c. sour cream
- 1/4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 c. fat
- mushrooms, if desired
Method
- Mix salt and pepper with flour; roll strips of beef in mixture, brown in fat and remove from skillet.
- Add beef stock, tomato juice, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
- Bring to a boil; add meat.
- Simmer, covered, until meat is almost tender.
- Add sour cream and continue simmering, uncovered, until meat is tender. Serve over rice or noodles.
