Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean beef, cut 3 x 1/2-inch
  • 1 c. hot beef stock or bouillon
  • 3 Tbsp. tomato juice
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 c. sour cream
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. fat
  • mushrooms, if desired

Method

  • Mix salt and pepper with flour; roll strips of beef in mixture, brown in fat and remove from skillet.
  • Add beef stock, tomato juice, mustard and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Bring to a boil; add meat.
  • Simmer, covered, until meat is almost tender.
  • Add sour cream and continue simmering, uncovered, until meat is tender. Serve over rice or noodles.
