Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 None onion, finely chopped
- 1 None potato, peeled and diced
- 1/2 None carrot, peeled and diced
- 1/2 None turnip, peeled and diced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
- 2 None refrigerated pie crusts
- None None Milk, for brushing
- None None Tomato sauce or chutney, to serve
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°F. Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Mix ground beef, vegetables, salt and parsley in large bowl. Season with black pepper.
- Roll out pie crusts on a floured surface to 12-inch rounds. Cut out four 6-inch rounds, re-rolling scraps as needed. Place 1/4 of the meat mixture on one half of each pastry round. Brush around edge of pastry with water; bring edges together into a semicircle. Pinch edges together to seal. Place pasties on prepared pan. Prick each 4 or 5 times with a fork. Brush with milk.
- Bake for 10 mins. Reduce oven temperature to 350°F. Bake for 35 mins.
- Serve hot with tomato sauce or chutney.
