Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. rice
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 beef bouillon cube
  • 2 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 medium, chopped onion
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 1/2 c. diced, cooked beef (may use any beef)

Method

  • Cook rice in hot oil until golden brown.
  • Add salt, water, bouillon cube and soy sauce.
  • Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Add remaining ingredients; cover and simmer (it may be necessary to add more water).
  • All water should be absorbed at end of cooking time.
  • If not, remove lid and cook until water evaporates.
