Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/3 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/3 c. minced onion
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 lb. 13 oz. can pears
  • 1 c. reserved pear juice
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. water

Method

  • Beat egg; add milk, bread crumbs, salt and pepper.
  • Mix well. Add onion and ground beef; mix gently, until ingredients are just combined.
  • Shape into 2-inch meatballs.
  • Brown slowly in oil in a large skillet.
  • Drain excess fat from pan.
