Ingredients
- 1 tin evaporated milk
- 1 tin water
- 1 tin condensed milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 level Tbsp. custard powder
- vanilla essence
- 1 tsp. gelatin
- 1/4 c. water
Method
- Mix custard powder with a little cold milk.
- Add to evaporated milk with slightly beaten eggs.
- Cook over boiling water in a double boiler until mixture coats spoon.
- Add 1 teaspoon gelatin dissolved in 1/4 cup cold water while the custard is hot.
- Remove from heat; cool and add condensed milk or sugar if necessary. Flavor with vanilla or mixed essence.
- Chill and freeze or churn in freezer.
- Excellent served with either fruit cocktail, flaked coconut, peaches, pears or chocolate sauce.
