- 1 1/2 c. tomato juice
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 2 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. powdered mustard
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 3/4 c. vinegar
- 4 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 4 Tbsp. salad oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 small onion, chopped fine
- dash of garlic salt
- 1/4 c. catsup (if desired)
- 1 fryer or equal selected pieces
Method
- Combine ingredients and heat for 10 minutes. While sauce is heating, prepare fryer as though frying (salt, dredge and brown in small amount of fat).
- Pour sauce over chicken. Cover and cook on top of range or uncovered in oven at 300° for 1 1/2 hours.
- Turn chicken several times during cooking.
