Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/3 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 2/3 c. chopped walnuts
  • 2/3 c. mashed bananas
  • 3 Tbsp. sour or buttermilk

Method

  • Cream the butter, add the sugar gradually, creaming well. Add the eggs and beat well.
  • Sift the flour with the salt, soda and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  • Add the walnuts.
  • Combine the banana and sour milk alternately with the dry ingredients to the sugar mixture.
  • Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
