Ingredients
- 2 1/2 c. Gold Medal unbleached flour
- 1 1/4 c. mashed bananas
- 1/3 c. whole milk
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Method
- Heat oven to 350°.
- Grease and flour loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inches.
- Blend all ingredients in large mixer bowl on low speed for 15 seconds.
- Beat on medium speed for 30 seconds, scraping bowl constantly.
- Pour into pan.
- Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 60 to 65 minutes.
- Immediately remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
- For better slicing, refrigerate bread overnight.
