Ingredients

  • 4 whole Chicken Breasts, Bone In
  • 1 stick Butter
  • 2 cups Balsamic Vinegar (Or Enough To Cover Chicken In The Pot)
  • 2 Tablespoons Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1- 1/2 cup Sugar

Method

  • 1.
  • In a pot large enough to hold all the chicken, melt the butter.
  • Add vinegar, red pepper flakes, and sugar.
  • Bring to a boil and combine so all the sugar melts.
  • Reduce to medium-low heat.
  • 2.
  • Rinse chicken breasts, pat dry and add to the vinegar.
  • Be sure there is enough liquid to almost completely submerge the chicken.
  • 3.
  • Cover and let slowly simmer for 45 minutes to allow the vinegar/sugar/butter to absorb into the chicken.
  • You can tell its done when the meat is falling off the bone.
  • This recipe can also be achieved in a slow cooker on medium heat.
  • I love to serve this as a main dish alongside comfort food sides, or on a roll with provolone cheese.
