Ingredients
- 4 whole Chicken Breasts, Bone In
- 1 stick Butter
- 2 cups Balsamic Vinegar (Or Enough To Cover Chicken In The Pot)
- 2 Tablespoons Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- 1- 1/2 cup Sugar
Method
- 1.
- In a pot large enough to hold all the chicken, melt the butter.
- Add vinegar, red pepper flakes, and sugar.
- Bring to a boil and combine so all the sugar melts.
- Reduce to medium-low heat.
- 2.
- Rinse chicken breasts, pat dry and add to the vinegar.
- Be sure there is enough liquid to almost completely submerge the chicken.
- 3.
- Cover and let slowly simmer for 45 minutes to allow the vinegar/sugar/butter to absorb into the chicken.
- You can tell its done when the meat is falling off the bone.
- This recipe can also be achieved in a slow cooker on medium heat.
- I love to serve this as a main dish alongside comfort food sides, or on a roll with provolone cheese.
