Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. mild sausage (optional)
  • 4 c. tomato juice with 3 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 small cans tomato sauce
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp. oregano
  • 3 bay leaves (remove before adding to pasta)
  • small box mostaccioli

Method

  • Brown sausage and hamburger and drain.
  • Add to other ingredients and simmer while cooking mostaccioli.
  • Drain pasta. Mix with sauce.
  • Add part of mixture to baking dish and cover with grated Mozzarella cheese.
  • Add remaining mixture and cover with a generous layer of cheese.
  • Bake, uncovered, in 350° oven until cheese is golden brown, about 30 minutes.
