Ingredients

  • 5 eggs, beaten slightly
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/4 c. sugar

Method

  • Dissolve sugar and salt in milk.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add to eggs and mix lightly.
  • Place in custard cups. Place cups in pan of hot water (not boiling).
  • Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Center should not be quite set.
  • Custard cooks after removal from oven.
  • A knife inserted between center and outer edge should come out clean.
  • Cool.
