Ingredients

  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. corn syrup (light or dark)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. salted peanuts
  • 6 qt. popcorn, popped

Method

  • Melt butter.
  • Stir in brown sugar, syrup and salt.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in baking soda and vanilla.
  • Gradually pour over popped corn and peanuts.
  • Mix well with greased hands.
  • Turn into 2 large shallow pans.
  • Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Remove from oven. Cool.
  • Break apart and store in covered containers.
