Ingredients
- 8 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 cakes fresh yeast
- 2 c. lukewarm potato water, divided*
- 1/4 c. salad oil
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 2 qt. boiling water
- poppy or sesame seed (optional)
Method
- Sift together dry ingredients (except seeds and 2 tablespoons sugar) into a large mixing bowl.
- Soften yeast in 1/3 of the potato water.
- Add to dry ingredients.
- Add oil to remaining potato water and stir into flour mixture.
- Add eggs and stir briskly to form a ball of dough.
